Today we embark on a 10 hour bus ride to Cusco. Cusco as the Inca capital city when they ruled the entire West Coast of South America.

Yet another day we had to get up at 5.30am! The bus this time was a luxury coach with restroom onboard, free coffee, tea and sodas and free wifi (which did not work). The trip included a free buffet lunch at a restaurant along the way.

Either way it was a comfortable ride with lots of leg room and 5 stops to see stuff.

We'll be in Cusco for the next 4 days as this is considered one of the major tourists hubs for Machu Picchu and many other sights in the region.

First stop was at a 16th century church

Note the thumbs up from kid on right

Next we stopped at the highest point in the road, some 14,000 feet above sea level. Breathe deep.

Lots of mountains along the way

Given that the lunch was free it was pretty excellent

Plus they had Llamas and Alpacas for Wendy to play with!

There was a waterfall right in front of the restaurant.

Next stop was another 16th century compound with church, meeting halls and houses.

The final stop was yet another 16th century church that had the most beautiful collection of paintings and artifacts from 16-19th century. It is called the Sistine Chapel of America.

We were not allowed to take photos inside, so these are from their CD they gave us.

Finally, some interesting people we saw along the way;
