This is our last full day in Azores as we fly back to JFK tomorrow evening. So today was about filling in the gaps that we missed.  A drive up the mountain to see another lake and following a couple pieces of coastline..

View going up the mountain

A beautiful lake that, of course, was once a volcano about 300,000 years ago!  It's generally prettier than this on a clear day.

Then the clouds started to move in again!

Yeah THAT was the grade of the road we had to drive up! Then it was over the top and back down again toward the coast.

The rocky outcrop on the right is called "The Elephant" as it does resemble an elephant.

Lots of pretty scenery along the way.

And kitties to play with. They were feral but friendly and someone was looking after them.  A large bowl of water and cat food shared with 4 chickens!

We found a quaint church, another windmill and one of those mini churches they use for religious festivals.  Overall, a nice day exploring the island.

And finally...

This is "Agriloja". It is a farm shop like our Tractor Supply. Sells animal feed, plants, farming equipment, fertilizer and even live chickens and bunnies. We stopped in for firewood.

However it has one thing our Tractor Supply does not! A fully stocked cafe Bar so you can have a beer and a shot of whisky after shopping your heart out! Oh, and if you prefer to drink alone, the store has a full selection of wine and liquor you can purchase to take home. Now THAT'S a farm shop!
