Today is our last day in Terceira, so it's laundry day. We pack light, typically just 4 or 5 outfits in a backpack and that's it so we don't have to deal with check ins or dragging luggage around. It's OK if you are going to one hotel for a few weeks but we never do that. We are always on the move every few days, so we need to do laundry once a week. Our AirBnB had a washer and a state-of-the-art fully green solar and wind powered dryer!

Which is why we stay at AirBnBs. Not really cheaper than a hotel, but offers much more room, a full kitchen, BBQ and laundry. We cook most our own meals only going to a restaurant to sample local cuisine occasionally. Healthier and cheaper. Restaurant yesterday was €70, dinner at home typically  €10.

The SUV pictured is our rental car. The car rental company upgraded us for free from the compact we booked to a mid size SUV, Jeep Renegade. The higher ground clearance has helped us several times on dicey roads, but larger turning circle has not on narrow roads.

We did find sometime in the afternoon to go for a short drive through the countryside. We really liked the "cow in a box"!  Wendy thinks he might be in time out for some reason.

On return, our landlord invited us over to sample some locally made liquors, what a nice guy!

I then did a quick time lapse video of the sunset.

And finally...

So here is a video of how we get to and from our AirBnB and the main road. It is a challenge for even the most experienced of drivers! Watch at your peril!!!

Tomorrow we fly to Pico Island the second largest island in Azores, known for its wine (not cows). The flight is only 30 minutes.
